# Connected classroom status · 24 September 2026

The main workspace is Evidence Map at https://outcome-evidence-map.netlify.app/connected.html. Its existing AssessTrack companion is integrated at https://outcome-evidence-map.netlify.app/field/. The original Google AI Studio project remains a development workspace; it is not the place to capture live classroom records.

## Access

Codex created the private Evidence Map teacher access key during connection setup; it should have been explained at that time. It is saved on Chad's Mac in `private/connected-teacher-access.txt` inside the Evidence Map workspace. Copy its single line into the site's Teacher access key field. It is not a Google password or Gemini API key. The four-hour teacher cookie covers the main dashboard and /field/ on that same origin. Never paste the production key into AI Studio preview or public teaching files.

## Roles and flow

- **GitHub / ChatGPT workbooks:** learning materials under Learning Studio Workbook Standard v2, using the shared project, checkpoint, skill and outcome references. Existing prompts and markdown are preserved. The live GitHub materials and coaching Gem were not rewritten in this integration.
- **Google Sheet:** authoritative class roster and Forms intake; mirrors individual field captures in Field Evidence, confirmed outcome decisions in Evidence Map Progress, and approved rubric criteria in Rubric Library. The existing five-minute timer handles mirroring; no public Apps Script web app is needed.
- **Evidence Map:** main visual dashboard, shared approved rubric registry, teacher outcome judgments and reporting comments.
- **AssessTrack /field/:** class and student selection, approved rubric downloads, teacher-authored rubric publication, Observation / Conversation / Product capture, local queue and server receipts. It uses the same teacher cookie and backend as the dashboard.

Student names come from the Google roster. Production baseline: 18 MM12 memberships, 32 COM11 memberships, no IBDS roster rows. The absence of IBDS names is a roster gap, not a reason to insert demonstration students. No production rubric was approved or student grade created during testing. Review and approve a rubric version in the dashboard before selecting it for capture.

## Verification

The isolated deployed preview was used for a fictional learner. One browser sign-in opened both applications. A combined Observation / Conversation capture appeared verbatim under the correct learner and outcomes in the main dashboard and the Google-authenticated field endpoint. Secure remained a capture suggestion; Guided remained a separate support context; no outcome grade was created. Drafts stayed with their learner and criterion; the empty IBDS class stayed empty; sign-out removed private information from the visible application.

48 automated checks passed across the existing dashboard, evidence service and Google integration plus the new field contract. The actual Apps Script mirror was exercised with reordered headers, a preserved extra column, formula-like notes, duplicate/revised events, conflicts, second-page cursors and post-write acknowledgments. Type checking and the production build passed. Historical Google-event revision hashes remain unchanged.

An iPad receives a “Google copy verified” indicator only after the existing Google job writes that exact revision and returns its receipt. Saving to the server alone does not prove the Google mirror is complete.

The production Apps Script update was installed at 20:41:52 Atlantic on 24 September. Its existing scheduled job succeeded at 20:46:13 with 50 roster memberships, 0 judgments and 0 field captures. This confirms the installed path runs; a live student capture was not created to test it. The production /field/ view also displayed the 18 existing MM12 roster entries using the shared session.

## Still unfinished

- Physical iPad Safari installation, airplane-mode capture/reconnect, microphone recording and dictation verification. Browser testing is not a substitute for that device check.
- Gemini has protected adapters but neither the server API key nor model is configured. It is not live. The request format follows [Google's official API](https://ai.google.dev/api/generate-content) and [audio reference](https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/docs/audio).
- Audio bytes remain on the capturing device. Protected cross-device audio backup/playback is not implemented. Reviewed text can be attached to the shared evidence event.
- PowerSchool is a teacher review export, pending the school's actual PowerTeacher template, local standards codes, score scale and student identifiers. No automatic grade upload.
- The 34 sprints and 332 dated lesson entries remain planning records. Full semester/year lesson packages, IBDS labs/slides/papers/IA preparation/mocks and teacher briefings are not all authored.

## Source ownership

`field-app/` in the Evidence Map repository is the integrated deployment source, based on the AI Studio export downloaded 24 September. Future AI Studio edits must be compared and merged here, rather than replacing the main dashboard or its backend. The exported Express server, demo authentication and simulated sync were not deployed. Production and preview credentials/stores remain separate.
